International Journal of Population Studies (IJPS) is an open access, multidisciplinary journal that publishes high quality original research and timely reviews of recent advances and emerging issues in population processes; dynamics of fertility, mortality, and migration; and linkages with socioeconomic and environmental change across times, spaces, and cultures.

Aims & Scope

International Journal of Population Studies (IJPS) is an open access, multidisciplinary journal that publishes high quality original research and timely reviews of recent advances and emerging issues in population processes; dynamics of fertility, mortality, and migration; and linkages with socioeconomic and environmental change across times, spaces, and cultures.

Aims

  • To provide an open access, multidisciplinary platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners worldwide to publish high-quality original research and timely reviews in population studies.

  • To disseminate rigorous findings on core population processes, including the dynamics of fertility, mortality, and migration.

  • To facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange on the linkages between population dynamics and socioeconomic, environmental change across different times, spaces, and cultures.

  • To bridge theoretical and empirical research in population studies, promoting the translation of research insights into evidence-based policies and practices.

Scope

The journal covers a wide range of topics in population studies, with a multidisciplinary, open access focus on demographic processes and their broader societal and environmental connections, including but not limited to:

Core Population Processes & Demographic Dynamics

  • Theoretical and empirical studies of fundamental population processes.
  • Dynamics of fertility
  • Dynamics of mortality
  • Dynamics of migration

Linkages with Socioeconomic & Environmental Change

  • Intersections between population dynamics and socioeconomic change
  • Linkages between demographic processes and environmental change
  • Temporal, spatial, and cultural variations in population-society-environment interactions

IJPS welcomes high-quality original research and timely reviews that advance understanding of population processes, their drivers, and their linkages to socioeconomic and environmental change across time, space, and cultures. All manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review to ensure academic quality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s multidisciplinary scope.
