Cardiovascular Reviews (CR) publishes peer-reviewed research articles across basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular medicine. The journal aims to enhance insight into cardiovascular disease mechanisms and the prospects for innovation. The Journal covers all topics within cardiology and cardiovascular biology with an emphasis on studies that challenge the status quo of treatments, at the molecular, sub-cellular, cellular, organ, and organism level, and of clinical proof-of-concept and translational studies and practices in cardiovascular care or facilitate the translation of scientific advances into the clinic as new therapies or diagnostic tools. Manuscripts are expected to provide a significant contribution to the field with relevance for cardiovascular biology and diseases.

Aims

  • to publish peer-reviewed research articles across basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular medicine.
  • to enhance insight into cardiovascular disease mechanisms and the prospects for innovation in the field.
  • to facilitate the translation of scientific advances into the clinic as new therapies or diagnostic tools.
  • to support studies that challenge the status quo of treatments, advancing cardiovascular biology and disease research.

Scope

The journal covers a wide range of topics within cardiology and cardiovascular biology, including but not limited to:

Basic and Translational Cardiovascular Biology

  • Molecular, sub-cellular, and cellular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease
  • Organ-level and organism-level studies of cardiac function and pathophysiology
  • Translational research connecting basic discoveries to potential clinical applications
  • Preclinical models and proof-of-concept studies for novel cardiovascular therapies

Clinical Cardiovascular Medicine and Care

  • Clinical studies challenging existing treatment paradigms in cardiovascular care
  • Evaluation of new diagnostic tools, therapeutic strategies, and clinical practices
  • Translational studies advancing the management and prevention of cardiovascular diseases
  • Clinical trials and observational research contributing to improved patient outcomes
Cardiovascular Reviews (CR) welcomes manuscripts across basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular medicine that provide a significant contribution to the field. All manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review to ensure quality, originality, and relevance to advancing cardiovascular biology, disease understanding, and clinical care innovation. The journal aims to enhance insight into disease mechanisms and facilitate the translation of scientific advances into new therapies and diagnostic tools.
